Charger Animation
Android Application · Zboston App Studio · Effective March 2026
Introduction
Zboston App Studio ("we," "our," or "us"), based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, operates the Charger Animation Android application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
By installing or using Charger Animation, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
Information Collection
Charger Animation is designed to display animated visuals when your device is connected to a charger. To deliver this functionality, the App requests the following system-level permissions:
| Permission | Purpose | Data Sent to Our Servers? |
|---|---|---|
BATTERY_STATS / ACTION_POWER_CONNECTED | Detect when the device is plugged in or unplugged to trigger animations | No — local only |
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (Draw Over Other Apps) | Display the charging animation overlay on top of the lock screen or other apps | No — local only |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | Restart the background listener after device reboot so animations work automatically | No — local only |
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS | Prevent Android from killing the animation service during charging sessions | No — local only |
We do not collect, store, or transmit any battery data, charging history, or device usage statistics. All permission usage is strictly local and serves only the animation display feature.
We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, camera data, microphone input, or any other personally identifiable information through our own systems.
Use of Data
The system signals accessed by Charger Animation are used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Charging detection: The App listens for Android broadcast events (
ACTION_POWER_CONNECTED/ACTION_POWER_DISCONNECTED) to know when to start or stop the animation. This event data is never stored or logged. - Overlay rendering: The
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOWpermission is used solely to render the visual animation layer. No screen content, user interactions, or displayed information is captured or recorded. - Background service continuity: Battery optimization exemption ensures the animation service remains active during a charging session. This does not grant access to any user data.
- App preferences: User-selected animation styles and settings are stored locally on the device using Android SharedPreferences and are never transmitted externally.
Third-Party Services
Charger Animation integrates the following third-party services to support app functionality and monetization:

You can opt out of personalized ads via your device's Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
Overlay & Battery Optimization — Detailed Explanation
Because these permissions are considered sensitive by Android, we want to be fully transparent:
Draw Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): This permission allows Charger Animation to display its visual overlay on top of the lock screen when charging begins. The App uses this permission only to render the animation graphic. It does not read, capture, or interact with any content displayed by other apps or the system UI.
Battery Optimization Exemption: Android may restrict background services to save battery. We request exemption so the animation service is not killed mid-session. This exemption does not grant access to any user data — it only keeps our service process alive.
You can revoke the overlay permission at any time via Settings → Apps → Charger Animation → Display over other apps. Revoking it will disable the animation overlay feature.
User Rights
As a user of Charger Animation, you have the following rights:
- Right to revoke permissions: All permissions can be revoked at any time through your device's Settings without affecting data held by us (since we hold none).
- Right to erasure: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored preferences and data from your device entirely.
- Right to opt out of personalized ads: You may opt out of interest-based advertising via your device's ad settings or through the third-party providers listed in Section 4.
- Right to information: You may contact us at any time to request clarification about our data practices.
- CCPA / California Rights: California residents may request disclosure of any personal information shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes. As we do not sell personal data, no such disclosure applies to our own systems.
- GDPR Rights (EU/EEA users): You have the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Since we do not process personal data ourselves, these rights primarily apply to the third-party services in Section 4.
